Career Progression with Daly
Meet Nathan – Founder and Managing Director
I initially setup the business in a garage in Heacham in 1993, doing re-wires & general electrical repairs etc. for members of the public. The business prospered and we moved to Dersingham in 1995 into a converted office building, by this time we had 5 electricians on the books. In 2001 we again outgrew our premises and moved to Coxford and at the same time we setup the lighting showroom selling fittings to the public. By this point we had around 15 employees doing electrical contract work for small and large builders alike.
In 2005 Alpha Developments was a new arm of the business and was set up to do new build and renovation projects alongside our electrical contract work. At this point, the company had around 25 employees. Doing the whole build from start to finish was a fantastic experience for me and the team & was a period of strong growth for the business and the local construction industry in general.
Fast forward to 2009 and Alpha Developments became Daly (Group) Ltd and our concentration focused on contract work. We also added our successful plumbing & heating division to the business and began winning ever larger contracts as time went by. Today we employ in excess of 70 people and have become one of the leading Plumbing, Heating and Electrical contractors in East Anglia. Our level of detail and workmanship has been externally recognised as we received the NHBC 'Pride in the Job' award 'Seal of Excellence' in 2015 & 2016 working in partnership with Kier and NHBC Pride in the Job award with David Wilson Homes in 2018 and 2019. We continue to win awards year on year, most recently winning Customer Service Excellence with Barratt Homes, Customer Service Excellence with Redrow Homes, Most Highly Commended at the National Apprenticeship Regional Awards 2023 for investment in apprenticeships and Apprenticeship Norfolk Awards 2024 most Highly Commended Employer of the Year.

Career progression is something really important at Daly, we invest in our team and encourage them to continually strive and achieve...
Meet Ian - Apprentice to Commercial Director
Having previously undertaken my apprenticeship with Daly Group, I re-joined the Group as an Electrician in 2010.
My dedication and passion for detail, soon saw me earn my role of Contracts Supervisor, which soon after earned me my first large scale project.
Today, 14 years later, I’m now responsible for the strategic development and expansion of the business; overseeing the Estimating, Surveying, Procurement, Health and Safety and Customer Care Department as the company's Commercial Director.
Meet Gavin - Apprentice to Operations Director
I started an apprenticeship with Daly (Group) at the age of 16 when the company was a small group of 2 electricians and 2 apprentices. Over the last 22 years, through hard work and perseverance, I have progressed through from apprentice to electrician, earning approved status in 2010 and then taking on the role of Qualified supervisor in 2012, eventually onto become Operations Director running the electrical division. During my time at the company, it has expanded to include a mechanical division and with that a much larger range of apprentices have been able to train in both mechanical and electrical as well as administrative staff in the office. Each apprentice is given the same opportunity as me to learn and progress as far as their ambitions and work ethic will take them. The company highly values the benefit that apprentices can bring and over the years many of the apprentice electricians trained at Daly Group have gone onto great things either within the group or within the industry.
Meet Jack – Apprentice to Contracts Director
I started my career as an apprentice electrician back in 2003, working my way up the career ladder with determination and a hunger to learn more.I joined the Daly Team in 2013 as Contracts Supervisor where I continued to excel and introduced apprenticeships to the Daly GroupAs the company evolved and grew, I became Contracts Manager, building on the success of my supervisor role with more apprentices joining us and our quality work on sites contributing to many developers winning NHBC Pride in Jobs awards. This led to me being invited to become Contracts Director, something I’m extremely proud of and an amazing achievement for someone so young.
